The Lumos Bike Helmet is a great idea and invention.

Instead of putting lights on your bike, how about having the lights integrated into your helmet.

During the winter months I like to still get our early and will spend the first hour to two hours in the dark. Instead of making sure my lights are on my bike and ready to go I will just grab the Lumos Helmet.

Check out the video below as to all the features of the Lumos Helmet. There are brake lights and turn light. Pretty cool!

tucson bike pathsThere is currently about 400 miles of trails for cyclists, hikers and equestrians to enjoy in Pima County. According to Pima County officials there are many more paved paths and trails to come.

The Pima Regional Trail System Master Plan calls for 2,275 miles of paved paths and trails. To read more about the detailed plan CLICK HERE.

These include, paths like The Loop Tucson Bike Paths 1.0 and singletrack trails like the Tucson Mountain Park trail system.

Here’s a snippet taken directly from the master plan:

The updated trail system consists of 853 miles of existing and proposed trails, paths, greenways, river parks, bicycle boulevards, and enhanced corridors that connect regional destinations, parks, schools, and preserve areas. In addition, there are 1,422 miles of singletrack level trails. New trail segments range from small segments that infill the trail system to close gaps to long segments that criss-cross the southern area of Tucson where development is just beginning. The trail system includes trails parks, trailheads, and boundary access points to increase user access to the system.

pantano-river-parkRight now the county is working on extending the Pantano River Park to connect a section from 22nd all the way through Broadway and as of this post they are a couple weeks away from completion. So the path will go under Broadway.

Looking forward to when the Pantano River Park path connects all the way to Craycroft to The Loop path.

Check out the Pima County Master Plans for the trail systems and what is coming: => HERE.
